Orange County New Majority Opposes Proposition 82
In making the announcement, Paul Folino, New Majority Orange County
Chairman, stated while expanding educational opportunity is a worthy
goal, Proposition 82 just creates a new bureaucracy and increases
taxes.
“Dedicating $2.4 billion of scarce resources on a new preschool
bureaucracy that will only increase enrollment by 4 or 5 percent is not
an efficient way to spend taxpayer money,” said
Folino.
Over the past 7 years the New Majority has broadened the appeal of the
Republican Party by promoting a fiscally responsible philosophy toward
government and contributing resources to Republicans who support an
inclusive, mainstream approach toward politics.
